Chairman’s message

한인 사회의 미래를 함께 만들어 갑시다

오렌지카운티 한미 지도자협의회 홈페이지를 찾아 주신 여러분, 반갑습니다.

한미 지도자협의회는 오렌지카운티 한인 커뮤니티의 정치력 신장을 위해 2023년 3월, 폴 최 초대 회장님의 적극적인 리더십 아래 출범했습니다. 주요 활동으로는 유권자 등록 운동, 한인 1.5세와 2세 정치 유망주 발굴과 육성, 커미셔너 세미나를 통한 주류 사회 진출 독려, 한인 정치인과 지역 한인 간의 만남 주선, 각종 선거 참여 캠페인이 있습니다.

지금까지 부에나파크 시에서 매년 세 차례 유권자 등록 캠페인을 진행했고, 시의원 선거 운동을 적극적으로 지원하고 후원해 왔습니다. 또한 커미셔너가 되는 방법을 안내하는 세미나를 열어 부에나파크와 가든그로브에서 한인 커미셔너를 배출했으며, 다양한 한인 커뮤니티 행사와 함께 협회를 알리고 키워 왔습니다.

앞으로는 매거진을 통해 1.5세·2세와의 소통을 강화하고, Korean American Leader들의 이야기로 다음 세대에게 영감을 주고자 합니다. 정치 유망주 발굴과 육성, 시의원 선거 운동 지원, 봉사 활동도 꾸준히 이어 가겠습니다. 골프 대회를 통한 기금 모금, 커미셔너 세미나, 사관학교 진학 세미나, 매거진 발간, 차세대와 시의원의 만남과 봉사 활동 정보 공유 등 다양한 활동을 펼칠 계획입니다.

협회에 대한 적극적인 후원과 도움을 부탁드리며, 특히 봉사 활동과 정치인·시의원과의 연계를 통해 꿈을 이어 가고자 하는 차세대 여러분의 문의를 기다립니다.

Message from the President

The Korean American Leaders Association of Orange County (KALAOC) was established in March 2023 under the proactive leadership of founding President Paul Choi to enhance the political influence of the Korean American community in Orange County. Our primary activities include voter registration drives, identifying and nurturing 1.5- and second-generation Korean American political prospects, organizing seminars that encourage participation in mainstream society, facilitating interactions between Korean American politicians and the local community, and conducting election participation campaigns.

To date, we have run voter registration campaigns three times a year in Buena Park, actively supported city council campaigns, and hosted seminars on becoming a commissioner, which led to the appointment of commissioners in Buena Park and Garden Grove. Looking ahead, we aim to strengthen communication with the next generation through our magazine, continue nurturing political prospects, host a fundraising golf tournament and commissioner seminars, and share volunteer opportunities. We earnestly request your support, and we especially welcome inquiries from young Korean Americans who want to connect with public service.
