ABOUT KALAOC

The Korean American Leaders Association (KALAOC) was established in March 2023 under the proactive leadership of President Paul Choi to enhance the political influence of the Korean community in Orange County. Our primary activities include voter registration drives, identifying and nurturing 1.5 and second-generation Korean American political prospects, organizing seminars to encourage mainstream societal participation, facilitating interactions between Korean American politicians and the local community, and conducting various election participation campaigns.

To date, we have conducted voter registration campaigns three times annually in Buena Park, actively supported and sponsored all city council members’ campaigns, and hosted seminars on becoming commissioners, leading to the appointment of commissioners in Buena Park and Garden Grove. We have also promoted and developed the association through various Korean community events.

Looking ahead, our goal is to strengthen communication with 1.5 and second-generation individuals through the launch of our magazine, inspiring Korean American leaders and encouraging the next generation to take a more active interest. We plan to continue identifying and nurturing political prospects, supporting city council campaigns, and engaging in volunteer activities. This year, we aim to organize a fundraising golf tournament in July, host commissioner seminars, publish the second issue of our magazine, and share volunteer activity information, among other initiatives.
